Registration is a critical first step in accessing the R&D Tax Incentive.

Companies must register their R&D activities before they are able to claim the benefits of the R&D Tax Incentive. The deadline for lodging an application for registration is ten months after the end of a company’s income year. Therefore, the R&D Tax Incentive lodgement due date, for companies with a standard income period of 1 July 2016 to 30 June 2017, with AusIndustry is 30 April 2018 – That’s less than 9 weeks to go!

AusIndustry receives a large number of registration applications close to the registration deadline, including on the final day. A large number of registrations can cause processing delays which can be avoided by lodging registrations well before the deadline.
